Job Summary
H2M Architects and Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Compensation Manager to lead the development and implementation of our compensation strategy. This role will be responsible for managing the company's compensation program, including payroll, benefits, and related human capital management (HCM) modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compensation and benefits, with experience in a professional services industry. The Compensation Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources and work closely with the Benefits and Payroll Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives
• Manage the administration of the company's compensation program, including payroll, benefits, and related HCM modules
• Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of compensation practices to ensure competitiveness in the market
• Lead the job evaluation process to determine appropriate salary grades and ranges for different positions within the organization
• Modify/develop a compensation strategy and program, ensuring internal equity in the ranking of new positions, new hire salaries, promotions, equity adjustments, etc.
• Review salary grade structure for appropriateness with market and implement updates
• Evaluate new positions for FLSA status
• Research, analyze, and evaluate compensation issues; participate in compensation and benefit surveys, including industry-specific surveys
• Manage salary benchmarking and salary range development, including completing and analyzing industry-specific salary surveys, optimizing CompAnalyst tool with Salary.com to perform pay modeling and analytics
• Support the HR team and business managers on compensation matters, including offers and ad-hoc reviews and reports
• Direct the annual incentive pay programs
• Manage compensation module in HCM. Evaluate and implement related upgrades and changes. This may involve managing systems support and consultants
• Payroll: Oversee biweekly payroll processing, perform payroll review and serve as back-up when necessary
• Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and update documentation when needed
• Review quarterly tax filing with finance and complete any required maintenance to ensure all taxes are recorded in the system prior to system processing
• Respond to all unemployment claims and maintain all related documents
• Administer the time and attendance policy and paid and unpaid leave policy for all employees
• Maintain earnings and deduction codes
• Manage payroll and entitlements module in HCM. Evaluate and implement related upgrades and changes
• General: Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices, including internal employee pulse surveys to stay on top of employee concerns and interests
• Conduct periodic audits and prepare reports
• Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or related area of study
• 8+ years of Compensation, Payroll and Benefits related experience, preferably within the professional service industry
• CCP preferred
• Prior experience using Ceridian Dayforce preferred
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Must possess excellent analytical skills
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization including Sr. Level Executives
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to create complex spreadsheets to audit and report payroll related data
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities based on business needs or requests
• Ability to make independent decisions and handle difficult workplace situations in a calm and discreet manner
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail; strong follow-up skills a must
• Excellent record keeping habits with a keen eye for data inconsistencies
• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
• Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and terminology, compensation, payroll and benefit processes and procedures, including eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures
• The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 annually
• The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant's characteristics protected by local, state or federal law
