This role requires a comprehensive understanding of patient care across various age groups, emphasizing the principles of growth and development, alongside the assessment of relevant data to identify specific nutritional needs and responses.

- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient-related information.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commit to continuous self-education and professional development.

- Effectively plan, direct, and implement appropriate nutrition interventions.
- Provide counseling to patients on various nutrition-related topics.
- Conduct patient visits as directed to enhance satisfaction scores.
- Assess and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nutrition care, making necessary adjustments.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Practice active listening to understand patient needs.
- Complete consults and assignments punctually.
- Be willing to assist in other areas as required.
- Achieve success in monthly chart audits.
- Maintain a constructive attitude towards feedback.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in nutrition, dietetics, or food service management is required to meet the educational standards set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the Dietitian/National Registration Examination. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
Preferred experience in a healthcare setting; however, this may be waived for candidates who meet the educational criteria.
Licensure:
Must be licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Health and registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire.
Mental Requirements:
Exhibit expertise in clinical dietetic practices and understand the significance of nutrition in health maintenance. Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and health systems is essential. Maintain professional standards while ensuring confidentiality in communications with physicians, administration, and other healthcare personnel. Display initiative in problem-solving and possess the ability to operate necessary office equipment and calculate therapeutic diets effectively. Competency in coordinating nutritional care activities for assigned patient care areas is required.
