Job Summary

The Operations Manager is a key role within the Genuine Parts Company, responsible for developing, managing, and delivering support services to our sales force. This position is critical in ensuring the administrative services of sales are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains all sales support activities at the branch, ensuring seamless execution of sales processes.
  • Trains sales staff on sales-related systems, databases, and associated processes, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Provides customer support, including order processing, advising customers of product shortages, expected delivery dates, and price changes, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implements and maintains pricing per established policies, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manages collections process and maintains overall responsibility for outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payment and minimizing financial risks.
  • Responsible for all Accounts Payable activities within the branch, including expense, inventory, and freight invoices, and debit memos, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Prepares reports related to customer inquiries, sales trends, customer complaints, delivery, or service problems, providing valuable insights for business improvement.
  • Assists customers and suppliers to resolve order problems, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Manages inventory for the Branch, including the day-to-day maintenance of inventory levels through replenishing stock to meet annual turn goals, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • May fill in for other lower-level roles within the branch, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Genuine Parts Company.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels of employees.
  • Industry and sales experience preferred, with the ability to perform financial calculations and generate reports.
  • Demonstrated people and leadership skills with a record of achieving positive business results.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects, with a professional, self-motivated attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplary work ethic and decision-making ability, with a commitment to excellence.
