A full-time position is available for a research associate within the Center for Agricultural Synthetic Biology. This role is funded through grants, and ongoing employment is dependent on continued funding. The selected candidate will contribute to enhancing plant species through genetic modification to tackle significant agricultural and environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
The researcher will be expected to:
1. Conduct PCR, plasmid DNA isolation, and restriction enzyme digestions.
2. Perform gel extractions and yeast transformations.
3. Execute plant transformations and prepare necessary media and buffers.
4. Maintain greenhouse operations and assist with various laboratory tasks.
5. Develop experimental designs and contribute to the establishment of standardized research protocols.
6. Ensure data quality assurance throughout research processes.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in plant biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related discipline, along with three years of relevant laboratory experience. A Master's degree in a similar field is preferred.
- A strong publication record and significant motivation will be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
