About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Operations Coordinator to join our team at Optum, a global organization that delivers care aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives.

As a Healthcare Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of patient care, including daily scheduling, reporting new or pertinent patient information, and ensuring accuracy in clinician schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily scheduling of all physician orders, new referrals, and schedules with appropriate field clinicians
  • Reports new or pertinent patient information to field clinicians
  • Schedules per physician order all visits/tasks specific to each patient from the beginning to conclusion of directed patient care: supervisory visits, re-certification visits, discharge visits, transfers, and post-hospital visits and ensures accuracy
  • Updates clinician schedules frequently to remain in compliance with current physician orders
  • Communicates all new physician orders and new referrals with contract therapy staff
  • Responsible for checking email, HALO's, team messaging system and voicemail to respond to time-sensitive messages from customers, leadership, lower-level management
  • Prepares clinicians schedules and assign clinicians to patients based on the frequency and expected duration of prescribed treatments and therapies per physician order
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience performing administrative duties in a medical setting
  • 1+ years of experience in a position that requires multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • 1+ years of scheduling experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience & familiarity with medical terminology
