We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Site Reliability team at Datadog. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our high-volume, low-latency environments.

As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our product engineers to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure needed to support our growing customer base. You will be responsible for shaping the infrastructure of our data-intensive, real-time services as we continue to grow at petabyte scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keep our service reliable, available, and fast as a member of the operations team.
  • Respond to, investigate, and fix service issues, whether they be deep in the OS kernel or in the application code.
  • Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure we need to support orders of magnitude more customers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of programming experience and a willingness to dive into unfamiliar codebases.
  • Track record as an engineer in the operations of a large site.
  • Value correctness and efficiency; leave no stone unturned when diagnosing production issues.
  • Handle infrastructure with code because automation lets you focus on the more difficult and rewarding problems.
  • Production experience with distributed compute/storage tools, e.g. zookeeper, cassandra, postgres, kafka, elasticsearch, redis.
