Software Engineer II

CAE is seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team in Suffolk, Virginia. As a software engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software systems in support of the Department of Defense's Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop software systems using microservice architecture patterns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products
- Work with geospatial data using GDAL, Geoserver, Geotools, OpenLayers, Leaflet, and Cesium
- Develop RESTful APIs to store data in database systems like PostgreSQL, GraphDB, OrientDB, etc.
- Deploy software to cloud platforms using containerized software modules in DevSecOps pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, software, or computer science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience or Master's degree with 1 year of experience
- Eligible for Secret DoD Personal Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship required due to U.S. Government contract requirements
