We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Cook II to join our team at the Department of State Hospitals. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supervising and training staff, overseeing meal preparation and dispensing therapeutic diets, and ensuring compliance with departmental and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train staff responsible for meal preparation and service
- Oversee the preparation and dispensing of therapeutic diets per physician orders
- Ensure staff follow all departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Supervise the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen facility and equipment
- Maintain order and supervise the conduct of central kitchen staff
- Either I: One year of experience performing the duties of a Supervising Cook I in the California state service
- Or II: Experience: Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity over cooks and allied workers with responsibility for supervising, planning, and scheduling the preparation; cooking, and serving of meals for at least 250 persons a meal
- Education: Equivalent to completion of eighth grade
Face coverings are required while working on-site, and employees must follow current face covering guidance as issued by CDPH.
Special Requirements- The position requires a Drug Screening to be passed prior to being hired
- The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired
- The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired
