Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions issued by physicians, ensuring a comprehensive daily log of prescriptions dispensed.
  • Oversee and monitor all prescriptions generated within the facility, confirming adherence to Medicare guidelines through a qualified e-prescribing system.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for patients at the service window, explaining the prescription process and verifying patient information.
  • Utilize Centricity and Pioneer systems to confirm patient insurance coverage for accurate billing.
  • Input prescriptions for physician dispensing using Pioneer software, ensuring correct patient data is submitted for claims.
  • Engage with insurance companies to secure prior authorizations for any rejected medication claims, following up as necessary.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a two-year degree is preferred.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is mandatory.
  • Experience of zero to two years in a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer and telephony support, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong background in customer service, particularly in healthcare.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and proficiency with standard office equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and resolve customer issues with professionalism.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong organizational skills.
Working Environment:

This role is primarily conducted indoors within a medical/business environment. Employees may encounter exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, and other health-related factors, along with moderate noise levels. Physical requirements include visual acuity for reading documents, hearing ability for communication, and the capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
