About the Role

As a Registered Nurse Oncology at Novant Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and their families.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to join our team, who is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse Oncology, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care for patients with cancer and blood disorders. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, and developing individualized plans of care to meet those needs.
  • Providing direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and managing patient symptoms.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families, including information about treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • At least one to two years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) within 30 months of employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of cancer and blood disorders, as well as current treatment options and protocols.
