About the Role

Oncology Specialists of Charlotte is dedicated to providing cutting-edge cancer treatment in a community setting. As an Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include administering infusions for oncology and hematology patients, assessing patient needs, and implementing pain management techniques. You will also develop and revise care plans, educate patients and families on managing injuries and illnesses, and review patient history and diagnostics.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care that reflects respect for patient rights, dignity, values, cultural preferences, and expressed needs.
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Administer infusions for oncology and hematology patients.
  • Assess pain and implement appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Develop, implement, and revise care plans that reflect patient diagnosis and outlined standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families on managing injuries and illnesses to ensure safe and successful discharge.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, valid North Carolina RN license.
  • CPR Certification.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biohazard Certified.
  • One year of relevant chemo infusion experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent IV and central line access skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of professionalism during stressful times.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Dedication to providing best patient care possible.
  • General working knowledge of computers and department-specific software.
