Job Title: Senior Legislative and Regulatory Analyst

AHIP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legislative and Regulatory Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the State Policy and Advocacy Division, this role will provide policy analysis and legislative/regulatory support services in connection with AHIP's state policy and state advocacy divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and analyze state legislatures and agencies' issuance of health insurance legislation and regulation at an advanced level.
  • Maintain comprehensive compilations of these materials, identify and track state policy issues, provide advanced-level analyzes, and share this information within AHIP.
  • Work with State Advocacy Regional Directors, state trade associations, and local retained counsel to identify priority issues and assist with implementing policy and advocacy strategies in assigned states.
  • Prepare advanced-level written communications with the Vice President of State Policy to include State Strategy Team memos, legislative and regulatory updates, testimony, comment letters, and talking points in collaboration with the State Advocacy Regional Directors, State Policy, and AHIP Verticals as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced degree in health policy, public policy, or related field including juris doctorate (JD).
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of experience working on health insurance related issues. Experience working in a state legislature or health insurance regulatory agency required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze legislative and regulatory statues required.
