Position Overview:

The Science, Math & Technology School is a vibrant and innovative magnet institution dedicated to providing a curriculum that evolves with national standards, best practices, and the latest technologies integrated into the core subjects.

Our core curriculum is aligned with the Osseo Area Schools' educational framework across all disciplines.

We incorporate value-added standards in science, mathematics, and technology, which are woven into grade-level projects that utilize advanced technological tools and scientific apparatus.

Our educators employ inquiry-based instructional methods and differentiate learning experiences. All staff will receive training in Thinking Maps and Question Formulation Techniques.

Collaboration with a Curriculum Integration Coordinator and a Technology Integration Collaboration Teacher is essential for co-teaching and for the development, review, and enhancement of value-added standards and projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate scientific concepts across various subject areas, utilizing technology effectively.
  • Adopt an inquiry-based approach to allow student questions to steer instructional methods, particularly in the sciences.
  • Demonstrate comfort with live specimens in life sciences, including insects and aquatic life.
  • Incorporate interdisciplinary approaches into reading and art.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and apply new technologies in conjunction with the core curriculum and evolving projects.
  • Maintain a classroom or grade-level website to enhance communication.
  • Participate in professional development and planning sessions, which may occur during school hours, before or after school, or in the summer.
  • Commit to engaging with a diverse and multicultural student body.
  • Embrace flexibility, positivity, and a fun approach to teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota teaching license in the relevant field.
  • Authorization for the district to submit an Out of Field Permission request if applicable.

Compensation:
Refer to the salary grid outlined in the teacher's contract.

Employment Type:
Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
