Position Overview

Role Summary: The Science, Math & Technology School is a vibrant, flourishing magnet institution with a curriculum that consistently adapts to incorporate national benchmarks, best practices, and innovative technologies alongside core subjects. The foundational curriculum aligns with the Osseo Area Schools' standards across all disciplines. Enhanced standards in science, mathematics, and technology are woven into the core curriculum and are part of value-added initiatives at each grade level, utilizing technological tools and scientific apparatus.

Educators employ inquiry-based teaching methods and personalized learning strategies. All staff will receive training in Thinking Maps and Question Formulation Techniques. Educators collaborate with a Curriculum Integration Coordinator and a Technology Integration Collaboration Teacher to co-teach and to develop, assess, and refine value-added standards and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Incorporate scientific principles into various subject areas, leveraging technology
• Utilize an inquiry-driven approach to allow student inquiries to shape learning, particularly in science
• Comfortably work with live specimens in life sciences, including insects and crayfish
• Blend other disciplines into reading and art instruction
• Embrace new technologies and integrate them with core subjects and evolving projects
• Maintain a classroom or grade-level website
• Participate in professional development and planning sessions during school hours, before or after school, and in summer
• Commit to engaging with a diverse, multicultural student body
• Exhibit flexibility, openness to new ideas, positivity, and enjoyment in teaching

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in the relevant field

Compensation: Refer to the salary grid in the teacher's contract with Education Minnesota Osseo
