Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Trainee to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Radiology Trainee, you will play a critical role in supporting our radiology department by assisting with various tasks and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures by identifying them using two identifiers and two sources, documenting pregnancy according to procedure, and noting discrepancies in clinical indications for imaging studies.
  • Produce diagnostic-quality exams by setting technical factors, positioning patients to achieve optimal images, and completing quality exams with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain patient and technologist safety by properly shielding patients, minimizing repeats, and demonstrating compliance with ALARA principles.
  • Assist radiologists in performing fluoroscopy procedures by setting up rooms properly and ensuring necessary supplies are available.
  • Participate in in-service education classes, maintain good standing status, and stay informed of departmental policy changes.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED required; must be attending an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology and be a second-level student in good standing.
  • No licensure or certification requirements.
  • No professional experience required.
Work Environment

This part-time position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. The work schedule is variable, and the standard hours per week are 20.00. The salary range is $25.86 per hour (hiring range), and pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
