Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Land Survey Department Manager to join our team at Pape-Dawson Engineers. As a key member of our survey department, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work of our local survey team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relations and Business Development: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, acquire new clients and projects, and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Team Leadership and Guidance: Provide direction and guidance to Survey Project Managers, Project Surveyors, and Survey Technicians to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with TBPELS rules and regulations, and that quality control standards are met.
  • Proposal Development and Budget Management: Prepare proposals and manage project budgets and client invoicing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Responsible for the quality control of drawings and legal descriptions prepared by others, and ensure that all work meets corporate QA/QC guidelines and principles.
  • Team Management and Development: Manage, train, and mentor other members of the Survey Department to ensure their professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications: Registered in the state of Texas as a Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS).
  • Experience: 15 years of land surveying experience and 5 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently in a fast-paced production environment, develop and maintain professional relationships, handle complex issues/problems, manage performance of Survey team members, and effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization.
