Audiologist Job Description

Rapid City Medical Center, LLP is seeking a skilled Audiologist to provide diagnostic, consultative, and rehabilitative audiology services to adults and children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain case history and administer diagnostic tests to determine the nature, degree, and type of hearing problems.
  • Consult with patients on the nature of hearing loss and communicative problems, developing individualized treatment programs.
  • Conduct follow-up to determine patient progress and modify therapy programs as needed.
  • Maintain all clinical records and charts as specified by practice management.
  • Plan and direct treatment programs to restore patient hearing.
  • Instruct patients and their families in rehabilitative procedures.
  • Perform hearing aid evaluations and dispense hearing aids.
  • Makes referrals for further diagnostic evaluation and therapy and/or treatment.
  • Conduct rehabilitation therapy, including auditory training.
  • Calibrate and maintain audiology equipment, selecting and ordering hearing aids and other supplies.
  • Maintain the unit in a clean and orderly manner, keeping equipment in good working condition.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Audiology required; Doctor of Audiology preferred.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of testing and diagnostic equipment, disorders, and patient prognosis to establish a treatment plan.
  • Knowledge of hearing devices, programming, and troubleshooting software.
Work Environment:

This position requires working in a combination of exam rooms and medical offices, with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
