Position Overview

The role involves working under the guidance of the Project Manager or their representative, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness across assigned responsibilities. Candidates should possess qualifications as custodians or cleaners, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and cleanliness.

Location Note: This position requires travel across multiple sites.

Compensation: In accordance with California's pay transparency regulations, the hourly wage for this role is $18.00, supplemented by an additional $4.41 per hour for health and welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all protocols regarding building access and exit.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties outlined in the job description and free from communicable diseases.
  • Utilize various cleaning products, tools, and equipment, including vacuums, mops, and floor machines.
  • Employ ladders and other equipment as necessary.
  • Report any fires, hazardous conditions, or maintenance issues, such as malfunctioning lights or plumbing problems.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles
    • Disinfecting and polishing water fountains
    • Restocking supplies
    • Sanitizing surfaces
    • Conducting spot cleaning
    • Vacuuming carpets
    • Sweeping and mopping hard floors
    • Wiping down window blinds and sills
    • Cleaning interior windows
    • Shampooing carpets
    • Stripping, scrubbing, rinsing, waxing, buffing, and sealing floors
    • High dusting and cleaning
    • Following established procedures for handling and mixing cleaning chemicals
Supervision

This position operates independently without direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with janitorial methods, materials, tools, and safety precautions.

  • In accordance with PL 93-638, preference will be given to qualified Ahtna Native Corporation Shareholders, Descendants, and Spouses throughout the hiring process.
Core Competencies
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong customer service skills.
Work Environment

The characteristics of the work environment are typical of those encountered while performing the essential duties of this position, primarily within an office building setting.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The role may require prolonged periods of standing or walking, as well as pushing or pulling heavy equipment. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may also be necessary.
