We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Payroll Services department, you will be responsible for administering the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, the Optional Retirement Program, and UT System voluntary retirement programs.
Key Responsibilities- Administer payroll administration, accounting, compliance, reporting, and analysis for the State of Texas and UT System Retirement programs.
- Analyze Plan Limits Monitoring report monthly to ensure participant contributions to 403(b) and 457(b) accounts do not exceed IRS plan limits for the calendar year.
- Process adjustments, as needed, to correct excess deferrals and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, and university policies and procedures.
- Support payroll processing and reporting for mandatory and voluntary retirement program deductions.
- Provide customer support to employees, retirees, departments, Human Resource Services, and retirement providers.
- Reconcile retirement accounts to the general ledger balance on a monthly basis, resolve issues, and prepare adjusting journal entries, payroll adjustments, and refunds, as required, to ensure financial integrity and accuracy of employee records.
- Bachelor's Degree with related experience in finance, accounting, or payroll.
- Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service in a large organization.
- Professional demeanor with experience employing diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality in all business matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with DEFINE, Workday, and/or UT Austin retirement programs.
- Fluent in Spanish.
