This position is located in Rockville, MD at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG).
Job SummaryAs a member of the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) leadership team, this position is responsible for providing leadership for facilities management and operations, master planning, facilities renewal, capital and campus projects, safety & security, space and scheduling, furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E), environment, health and safety (EHS), lab management, sustainability, and related regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all processes associated with budget, planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of all USG facilities.
- Develop unit goals and implement strategies for public safety and security, master planning, space planning/utilization, laboratory management, academic scheduling, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) and sustainability initiatives.
- Manage and oversee building operations and maintenance.
- Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of large institutional facilities and infrastructure, including experience with project management, facility interior renovation/repurpose (FF&E).
- Experience should include at least three to four years in a leadership role for a facilities management organization.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- LEED Certification.
- Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Work is performed in both an office environment and in the field. Incumbent will be required to perform hands-on tasks with equipment which will require the ability to lift, bend, stooping, and working at heights.
Incumbent must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
This position is considered "Essential Personnel" subject to 24/7 day/week span of operations.
