Position Overview:

Allina Health is dedicated to providing a comprehensive Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Service Line that encompasses a full spectrum of care, including integrated psychiatry, specialized outpatient clinics, addiction and co-occurring services, partial hospitalization, day treatment, emergency, and inpatient care.

Faribault is a vibrant community with a population of 23,352, situated at the intersection of the Cannon and Straight Rivers in Southern Minnesota. It is conveniently located along Interstate 35, just a short drive from the Twin Cities metropolitan area, allowing residents to enjoy the benefits of urban proximity while experiencing the charm of small-town living. Faribault is characterized by planned growth and a rich historical heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will oversee adult outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. The partial hospitalization program enables psychiatrists to engage closely with patients and their families, meeting with them 2-3 times weekly for approximately three weeks, with opportunities for family involvement. The patient caseload can range from 8 to 24, depending on program size and provider FTE, with a full-time equivalent of 1.0 for 24 chairs in adult PHP.

Primary Duties:

  • Evaluate patients to determine suitability for specific care levels and programs
  • Deliver direct clinical care in psychiatry, including brief assessments and interventions
  • Collaborate with the treatment team, patients, and families to create behaviorally-focused, outcomes-driven treatment plans addressing mental health, functional impairments, and co-occurring disorders
  • Work alongside program RNs to address comorbid medical issues within the patient population
  • Actively engage in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management
  • Provide care in various settings, including ambulatory clinics, inpatient, or outpatient hospital environments
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed
  • Develop and lead educational initiatives for staff on psychiatric topics

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent foreign training required
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified with ABMS or AOA required
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to secure and maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Meet criteria for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
