Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at Allina Health. As a key member of our orthopedic care team, you will provide expert care to patients with hip and knee conditions, managing their arthritis conservatively and surgically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care for musculoskeletal patients, including reviewing medical history, synthesizing comprehensive data, and making decisions regarding patient care.
  • Collaborate with patients to improve their health and well-being, providing education, consultation, or intervention as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the orthopedic care team, hospital staff, and other specialties to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management, actively contributing to patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide clinical care, surgical intervention, and outside event coverage, including injection clinics and collaboration with urgent cares.
  • May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting, and may have clinical duties including new patient triage for sports medicine or orthopedic patients.
  • May participate in on-call rotation, providing coverage as needed.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required.
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Orthopedic Surgery required.
  • 0 to 2 years of demonstrated experience in designated specialty area required, and 0 to 2 years of experience in research, presentations, and sideline coverage preferred.
  • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required, and must be board certified or be eligible for board certification within designated specialty upon hire.
  • ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required within 180 Days.

Physical Demands:

Medium Work*: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently.
