Job Summary:

The Cross Resource Group is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Program Manager to lead our team in the development and implementation of complex avionics systems. As a key member of our Avionics and Support Systems Department, you will be responsible for managing technical project teams, developing strategic objectives, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical project teams to deliver avionics modernization programs of moderate to complex technical scope.
  • Develop and implement strategic objectives and technical vision for program growth and expansion.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in the development, implementation, and delivery of avionics systems.
  • Apply business development experience to promote avionics modernization programs and develop long-term programs.
  • Manage production engineers and technicians supporting the manufacturing of flight computers and avionics certified circuit card assemblies.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Provide management and leadership of avionics modification programs involving hardware and software development, system engineering, fabrication, test, and support.
  • Support business development efforts, including interaction with clients to define requirements and develop SOWs, preparation of white papers and RFI responses, and development of proposals.
  • Successfully manage the triple constraint for hardware/software development projects, including preparing/tracking budgets using earned value management, management of technical scope, and use of MS Excel and MS Project scheduling.
  • Travel to U.S. locations to attend program reviews, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and marketing meetings.
  • Plan, organize, lead, and coordinate the activities of project technical and administrative support staff in support of both development and production programs.

Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other STEM degree fields with relevant Air Force Embedded Avionics Project Management experience.
  • Direct relevant Air Force acquisition and project management experience is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • MS Excel and Project certifications are preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in project management and leadership of engineering programs of >$3M each in defense-related applications.
  • 3 years of experience in the development, promotion, and expansion of technical programs in the defense industry >$3M.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Project to support detailed program financial analysis and earned value management tracking.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, executive management, and project staff.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
