Job Overview

Willis Towers Watson is seeking a skilled Large & Complex Casualty Broker to join our team. As a key member of our Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day placement and broking responsibilities for our largest and most complex accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage brokerage responsibilities for a book of new and recurring casualty exposures
  • Lead broking communication efforts with underwriters and client teams
  • Obtain and distribute information from client and/or client management teams
  • Assist on or lead front-end sales/RFP efforts
  • Prepare/oversee creation of proposals, submissions, and quotes
  • Design and prepare analytics/modeling material for clients in support of premium, collateral, and/or program structure objectives for each renewal
  • Review binders for accuracy and completeness
  • Sort and distribute work assignments for developing brokers
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with WTW Client Advocates, Producers, and senior underwriting contacts
  • Curate knowledge of the Healthcare/Life Sciences industry, insurance carriers, and their business practices
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and industry credentials

Requirements
  • Insurance broker's P&C license
  • Risk Management/Insurance degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience preferred
  • Large account loss-sensitive experience
  • Healthcare and/or Life Sciences experience preferred
  • Casualty coverage fluency
  • Ability to negotiate collateral with an understanding of loss development and credit risk
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core insurance principles & ability to articulate such knowledge to clients
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation skills and influence skills are critical
  • Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and selling skills are a plus
  • Attention to detail and process orientation
  • Strong ability to deploy the full capabilities of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of required placement workflows
  • Self-starter/requires minimal supervision
  • Will seek guidance when needed
  • Solid presentation skills-written or oral
  • Enhancing client service skills
  • Ability to deal with difficult client situations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of insurance structures

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role, and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
