Database Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Database Systems Engineer to join our team at Omni Inclusive. As a key member of our database support team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automated solutions using DevOps constructs, ensuring the highest quality standards for our database infrastructure and high-performing database environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with experience working in large and complex database environments. You will be fluent in English and have a good understanding of ITIL concepts and processes. Additionally, you will be familiar with UNIX platform system administration, shell scripting, and automation tools, as well as PostgreSQL database administration tasks.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing automated solutions using DevOps constructs
  • Ensuring the highest quality standards for our database infrastructure and high-performing database environment
  • Providing expert opinions, designing solutions, and implementing automations
  • Supporting the Service & Product Manager across several technical domains
  • Defining workarounds for known errors and initiating process improvements
  • Performing SME activities for complex High Availability and Disaster Recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, Database administration

As a member of our team, you will be working in the MSSQL/Sybase database support team in Nashville, providing database support for MSSQL and SYBASE platforms within the Banking organization globally. You will play an important role in providing the best-in-class database infrastructure and high-performing database environment to our customers.

Requirements include:

  • Proven experience working in large and complex database environments, ideally 8+ years in a similar role
  • Good communicator, able to adapt style and detail to the audience
  • Motivated, growth mindset, and self-driven

Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Log Shipping, mirroring, replication, Always ON, setup/maintain/diagnose native is a plus. Familiarity with SQL Server on Azure and Sybase or Postgres knowledge is also a plus.
