Job Overview:

The East-West Center, a renowned organization dedicated to promoting better relations and understanding among the people and nations of the United States, Asia, and the Pacific, is seeking an experienced Program Officer for a limited, two-year appointment. This role will play a pivotal part in preparing all documents for participants and consultants within the unit, ensuring logistical planning, administration, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and compliance of participant aspects for designated programs are carried out as planned.

Main Responsibilities:

* Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with Center participant-related policies and procedures, recommending changes as needed.
* Manage participant awards and related documents, including visa applications and health insurance applications, to enable individuals to participate in activities, drafting invitation letters to participants and distributing information regarding administrative arrangements.
* Communicate with participants regarding tax implications and provide orientation on Center-wide policies and procedures, services, personnel, and everyday life at the Center, when necessary.
* Plan and oversee non-academic aspects of participants' experiences, coordinating plans with other offices within and outside the Center.
* Assist in planning and administering program and logistical support for individual and group activities, including workshops, conferences, and seminars both at the East-West Center and at locations in the United States and other countries.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree with at least three years of full-time work experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform duties of this position. Experience should also demonstrate work resulting in the planning and coordination of activities, interpreting and applying policies, and administrative procedures, including oversight and processing of contracts and complex fiscal paperwork.
