Key Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician plays a crucial role in our veterinary practice, responsible for:

  • Assisting veterinarians in examining, treating, and monitoring animals, including administering medications and vaccines.
  • Preparing and analyzing laboratory samples, operating diagnostic equipment, and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Preparing surgical areas and assisting during procedures, including monitoring anesthesia and providing post-operative care.
  • Educating clients on animal care, wellness plans, and disease prevention.
  • Maintaining hospital supplies and ensuring equipment is functioning properly.
  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the clinic and supporting team members.
  • Performing reception duties such as scheduling appointments and managing client communications.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A valid certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT).
  • Experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
  • Strong skills in animal handling and basic care.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Work Environment

This position is performed onsite in a veterinary clinic, which may involve exposure to various environmental factors typical of a hospital setting. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment with the potential for long shifts.
