Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering
5-7 years of relevant experience is essential.
Consideration for candidates with a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience
Associates degree holders with 7+ years of experience will also be considered
Internships and similar experiences will contribute to the overall experience requirement.
Technical Proficiencies (Essential):
Proficient in developing PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, or other PLC programming languages
Design, test, and implement control systems, including systems with various PLC controllers, and experience in interfacing and designing controls with different manufacturers
Develop control software across multiple PLC platforms. Must possess expert knowledge in at least one of the following PLC platforms: Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, and LS5 Architecture
Ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings, applying them to design platforms while adhering to industry regulations and standards
Customize PLC software and hardware templates as needed.
Preferred Skills:
In-depth understanding of applicable NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI standards and their relevance in switchgear controls
Familiarity with protective relays and their functions related to Generator and Utility protection applications.
Interpersonal Skills (Essential):
Comprehension of the design philosophy, operation, and control of intricate PLC-based systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.

From hardware design to software development, through testing and validation, the Automation Systems Engineer is accountable for driving projects to completion while meeting customer expectations.

Execute and support the design, testing, manufacturing, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that manages multiple generators in parallel with one or more utility sources.
Guide CAD designers in creating wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controls.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
Generate bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls within the ERP system.
Develop PLC programs for the control of generator paralleling switchgear.
Manage multiple projects concurrently.
Team Interaction:
Collaborate with a team of 5-8 engineers, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Take personal responsibility for project deliverables.
Work Environment:
Office/Air-Conditioned manufacturing facility.
