This position is essential for the effective execution of processes and technologies that empower engineering and product teams to meet strategic business goals. You will serve as a connector and facilitator for improved decision-making, assisting business leaders in allocating resources to achieve optimal outcomes at the appropriate moments, concentrating the organization on impactful initiatives, and acting as the cohesive force that maintains alignment during periods of transition. Your daily responsibilities will include establishing program governance, upholding execution best practices, promoting data-driven decision-making from goal establishment to end-of-life, and addressing intricate obstacles to guarantee successful execution of defined objectives.

This role necessitates fostering alignment across diverse technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams on strategic objectives, develop program roadmaps, establish evaluation criteria, and oversee program performance.
  • Capacity Planning: Collaborate with engineering leaders to anticipate demand by program, create skills inventories, and ensure proper capacity allocation to meet business objectives.
  • Agile Methodology Adoption: Provide training, coaching, and support to delivery teams on optimal agile practices.
  • Program Planning Management: Develop program plans that outline resource needs, dependencies, budget, risks, and execution timelines.
  • Performance and Risk Oversight: Ensure programs meet established metrics, identify and mitigate risks, and adhere to established processes.
  • Data Organization and Presentation: Define and communicate objectives, key performance indicators, risks, decisions, and status updates to various stakeholder levels.
  • Implementation of Program Management Standards:
    • Drive execution within and across programs, maintain status communication, and enhance program visibility.
    • Lead daily/weekly stand-ups, addressing root causes, categorizing problems, and identifying actions to prevent recurring issues.
    • Ensure precision in prioritization, planning, and execution of deliverables, while improving the engineering deliverable say/do ratio.
    • Collaborate effectively with business management, product, engineering, and other teams to comprehend business requirements, align stakeholder expectations, engage with business for program roles and responsibilities, update stakeholders on program progress, and manage program risks and dependencies.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in portfolio and program management, with substantial knowledge of program management software tools and techniques.
  • Technical expertise in architecture, networking, and mobile services.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex programs from planning through execution.
  • Ability to define key metrics, track work against metrics, and report on metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences across various leadership levels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading diverse teams in a fast-paced environment, supporting operations, businesses, or functions.
  • Strong organizational, conflict management, and issue resolution capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent program management and leadership abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the capacity to utilize quantitative and qualitative management information to identify key trends and connect them to broader strategic business objectives.
  • Proficient in software tools such as Clarizen, Gitlab, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of multiple complex programs, with a solid understanding of systems development lifecycles, business analysis, and requirements processes.
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory)
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services, corporate, or investment banking sectors.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role, including but not limited to TechOps, SRE, DevOps, or Networking Engineering.
  • Experience in designing, delivering, or managing mobile-based programs.

Compensation

The anticipated on-target earnings (OTE), which consists of a base salary and additional cash compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, ranges from $94,500 to $113,500. This pay range is just one aspect of MX Technologies' comprehensive rewards package. We consider various factors when determining individual starting pay, including the job level, location, skill set, and peer compensation.
