Job Description

This position reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for being the main liaison between Batesville Tool & Die, Inc. and the Customer. The Technical Representative will provide technical support to the customer and assist various departments within the company with customer issues and to promote the wellbeing of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Travel with short notice domestically and internationally to support customer activity.
  2. Plan and schedule meetings internally and externally for BTD and customer items and visits.
  3. Present oneself professionally at the customer's facilities and follow all customer regulations.
  4. Support customer purchasing, accounting, engineering, and quality departments on all business issues between both companies.
  5. Support BTD departments for internal efforts and issues with launch, accounting, customer service, and quality, engineering, and manufacturing.
  6. Support customer purchasing on contents of quotes and provide feedback to BTD on the competitiveness of the quotes.
  7. Communicate customer programs, events, and necessary information with the respective personnel and departments within BTD.
  8. Provide support toward resolution of production discrepancies as they apply to manufacturing concepts, capability, print specifications, and gaging techniques.
  9. Support all engineering, part design, and part development requirements initiated internally or by the customer.
  10. Document meeting highlights, agreements, open issues, and follow-up requirements from phone calls, video conferences, and visits with the customer for future reference.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Help make recommendations on department goals and objectives that align with corporate goals and objectives and department capital expenditures, labor, and expense accounts.
  2. Provide leadership to the department staff and assist others in their work.
  3. Establish a teamwork attitude and environment and work well with all departments.
  4. Exhibit professionalism, respectfulness, and efficient use of time.
  5. Deliver an adequate training program for the department.
  6. Create, implement, and maintain technical specifications and ISO processes.
  7. Participate in committees and serve as a cost-conscious decision-maker.
  8. Develop and support mechanisms to adhere to company operations metrics.
  9. Perform HR-related events, including evaluations, promotions, hiring, and discipline.

Requirements:

  • High School Equivalency diploma.
  • Excel, Plex, PowerPoint, Word, Email, and Internet experience.
  • Knowledge of blueprint, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, technical knowledge, and terms of tools, knowledge of BTD manufacturing processes and parts.
  • Computer-aided design (CAD) is a benefit.

  • Microsoft Office products.
  • Scanner, copier.
  • Personal vehicle with insurance coverage and proper maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license.
