Position Overview:
The Athletic Programs Manager will oversee the administrative functions of the Intramural Sports and Sport Club initiatives at NIRSA Leaders in Co.

This role includes direct supervision of a team comprising 50 supervisors and 7 program assistants, as well as seasonal management of officials, with numbers fluctuating between 20-50 based on the sport.

The individual in this position will also act as an advisor to the Sport Club Council, which consists of 10 student representatives elected by the sport club membership, responsible for managing and allocating a budget of $350,000 in student government funding.

Evening and weekend supervisory and training hours will be necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and certify attendance and leave for graduate assistants, program assistants, supervisors, and officials.

- Manage daily program operations, including:

overseeing marketing strategies, managing student staff and participant disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with club administration, developing programs and events, scheduling and staffing intramural and club activities, assisting with athletic training programs, and managing equipment inventories.

- Provide guidance to the Sport Club Council (SCC) and Student Officials Associations (SOA).

The SCC is responsible for reviewing and allocating budgets for all recognized clubs, while the SOA enhances the skills of current student officials through involvement in extramural events and community engagement.

Both organizations serve as advisory boards, offering feedback on various issues affecting sport clubs and student official employment.

This position will support the SCC and SOA in creating events and initiatives tailored to their respective audiences.

Establish collaborative relationships with other campus departments to implement comprehensive policies and procedures that enhance program operations, including the Office of Greek Life, Office of Residence Life, Student Government, and other relevant entities.

- Assist in strategic planning and assessment, including defining learning outcomes for student participants and employees within the program area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, along with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or personnel role. A Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration is preferred.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
Four years of directly relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Six years of directly relevant experience may substitute for a master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Higher Education, Recreation, Physical Education, Student Affairs, or a related field, along with two years of professional experience in a collegiate recreation setting, particularly in Intramural Sports, is preferred.

Work experience cannot substitute for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
