About Our Retail Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our Retail Team at The Salvation Army USA Western Territory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store, including personnel management, cash handling, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations
    • Assume responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
  • Personnel Management
    • Assist Store Manager with hiring, training, and directing the store team.
    • Develop and implement performance coaching and development plans for store employees.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and communication.
    • Develop strategies to improve customer service and maximize the customer experience.
  • Inventory Management
    • Assist Store Manager with inventory management and rotation.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of merchandise and donations.
  • Security and Safety
    • Responsible for the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience required.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
