We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer II to join our team at the City of Des Moines, Washington. As a key member of our Engineering Services Department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the city's infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the implementation, organization, and coordination of engineering activities under the general direction of the Surface Water and Environmental Engineering Manager.
- Perform a variety of field and office engineering duties associated with the planning, location, design, construction, operation, or maintenance of engineering projects within the city.
- Administer and manage public capital improvement design and construction projects, including preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Investigate and conduct engineering analysis of citizen concerns, review and approve private drainage and/or transportation plans, and apply for funding assistance through federal, state, and local programs.
- Coordinate work with skilled and/or clerical employees and establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and with the public.
- Graduation from college or university with a degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Registration in the State of Washington as a professional engineer in civil engineering, with at least four years of responsible civil engineering experience for a municipality, county, state, or engineering consultant.
- At least 10 years of engineering-related experience with emphasis on project management in Public Works Engineering, including surface water/road construction, surveying, traffic, etc.

- A salary range of $107,101 - $130,169 annually, commensurate with qualifications.
