We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer II to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing structural and mechanical systems for our space vehicle test facilities.
Responsibilities:- Develop structural design solutions for ground systems and test stands.
- Design and manage tooling integration through the development and production build life cycle.
- Provide finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculations for steel structures and tooling fixtures.
- Manage external design and fabrication partners through the complete project lifecycle.
- Oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and activation.
- Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (or similar discipline).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in design/analysis/construction of large structural systems.
- Experience in structural and mechanical analysis utilizing FEA tools (STAAD and ANSYS preferred).
- Ability to interpret and apply sound design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in GSE design and analysis for the aerospace industry.
- Experience in STAAD and ANSYS.
- Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems.
- Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc).
WA applicants: $89,820.00-$125,748.00. Other site ranges may differ.
