Civil Engineer

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in the Pacific Northwest. As a key member of our Water/Wastewater group, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating water and wastewater projects for the region.
Key Responsibilities- Design engineer for municipal wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, pumping systems, pipelines, and collection systems
- Coordinate multi-discipline design teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
- Lead the planning, evaluation, and selection of preferred alternatives for water and wastewater projects
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents for water and wastewater projects
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner
- Provide construction support services, including field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, and RFIs
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (focus on water and wastewater utility design preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Washington, or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months
- 6+ years of experience with water and wastewater system design, including the design of activated sludge treatment systems, pipelines, pumping systems, collection systems, and/or CSO control systems
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to determine hydraulic system calculations for pump stations, pressure pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, and/or wastewater treatment plants
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling programs
- Strong project management background preferred
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Interest in business and client development
- Active membership and participation in water and wastewater professional associations, such as PNCWA, APWA, or AWWA (preferred)
- This position may require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
