Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will work alongside project engineers and managers to design and develop civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to project sites to observe existing conditions
  • Researching jurisdictional codes and manuals to determine design requirements
  • Brainstorming sustainable civil engineering solutions
  • Performing calculations to support the design of stormwater conveyance, water quality, flow control, and green stormwater systems
  • Preparing exhibits for inclusion with reports and/or presentations
  • Preparing drafts of drainage reports and feasibility studies

You will work closely with our CAD staff to develop permit and construction plans that may include erosion control, site demolition, stormwater facility design, site utility design, pavement design, and site grading. You will also attend site visits to observe construction of the systems you help design.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil (preferred) or environmental engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred), or scheduled date for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • 0-3 years of experience working under the supervision of a licensed professional civil engineer
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Coursework and/or familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D (preferred)
  • Coursework and/or familiarity with stormwater hydrology modeling (preferred)
