Key Responsibilities
  • Customs Clearance Operations: Supervise and coordinate customs clearance activities to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations.
  • Department Management: Oversee daily operations of the department to ensure profitability and compliance with company policies, ISO guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service through timely and accurate processing and compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train a team of customs clearance specialists to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all customs clearance activities are conducted in accordance with federal and foreign regulations, including the Department of Commerce, Uniform Customs and Practice 500 (UCP 500), and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Trade Compliance: Ensure that all trade compliance requirements are met, including knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, CTPAT, additional tariff requirements, OGA's, ACH, and all other related trade legislation, rules, and regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, management, and other stakeholders to ensure that customs clearance activities are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in customs clearance, trade compliance, or a related field.
  • Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications; knowledge of customs clearance procedures, trade compliance requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications: Some professional certifications may be required.
