Position: Senior Financial Specialist

Compensation: $90,000 - $94,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time

Company Overview:
The Wonderful Company is a leading entity in the agricultural sector, renowned for its premium products and commitment to quality. We are in search of a Senior Financial Specialist to manage critical components of our financial reporting and accounting processes.

Role Overview:
The Senior Financial Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial close process and preparing various accruals and reconciliations. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will involve collaboration with multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage month-end close activities and financial reporting processes, including journal entry preparation and analysis.
2. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on prepaids, expense accruals, loan activities, and bank reconciliations.
3. Prepare inter-company reconciliations, analyze transactions, and implement follow-up actions for discrepancies.
4. Generate entries and billings to allocate expenses to affiliated entities.
5. Analyze financial statements for inconsistencies and perform variance analysis against prior periods.
6. Maintain regular communication with departments to ensure clarity on business activities affecting financial sections.
7. Keep accurate records and detailed work papers, establishing standard operating procedures for each task.
8. Identify areas for improvement to enhance overall team efficiency proactively.
9. Conduct quarterly variance analysis.
10. Supervise Finance and Accounting interns.
11. Assist management with ad hoc research, analysis, and reporting projects.
12. Support year-end financial audits and various audit requests.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
- Proficient in general ledger accounting, journal entries, month-end close, and reconciliations.
- Experience in financial reporting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and Excel skills.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Word, and Outlook; knowledge of Oracle and HFM is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
