Lead Quantitative Financial Analyst

Los Angeles, California, United States Consultative Search Group Full time
Position Overview:

A prominent global consulting firm is seeking a Lead Quantitative Financial Analyst to enhance their innovative team.

The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in transactional and financial modeling to significantly contribute to the Corporate Department's key practice areas, which encompass Emerging Companies, Capital Markets, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Quantitative Financial Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the leadership of the Corporate department and legal professionals.

Your role will involve creating client-facing capitalization models essential for M&A transactions, SPAC, deSPAC, and early-stage/venture capital financing initiatives.

Partners and clients depend on the models crafted by Senior Analysts to ascertain the distribution of cash proceeds among equity and debt holders, as well as to evaluate the capitalization structure resulting from proposed transactions.

On an as-needed basis, you will liaise with attorneys to update models as deal terms evolve.

Financial models will include, but are not limited to, pro-forma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger consideration spreadsheets, voting models, and IPO S-1 models.

Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining training materials while mentoring and guiding our team of analysts and associates to ensure they can provide modeling support as required.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Engaging with attorney deal teams on transactions, which necessitates a thorough understanding of agreements and financial modeling support, including pro-forma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger consideration spreadsheets, voting models, and IPO S-1 models.
  • Advising the internal deal team based on insights gained from analysis, addressing any inquiries regarding data, analytical methods, and assumptions used in the work product.
  • Producing client-ready financial models and effectively communicating analyses and deliverables to partners, associates, and external clients.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information utilized during analytical tasks.
  • Participating in educational sessions for attorneys related to quantitative analysis work.
  • Developing and maintaining training resources such as reference guides, training presentations, a library of training exercises, and tip sheets.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A financial/industry qualification (CFA) or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant analytical experience within a professional services organization, focusing on corporate finance, consulting, or M&A, alongside experience managing ad-hoc requests and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Successful candidates will be offered an exceptional career opportunity within a supportive environment, accompanied by a competitive total compensation package.

Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and location.

Discretionary bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance, and profit-sharing contributions to 401(k) accounts may be provided based on firm performance.

The firm's comprehensive benefits package supports employees throughout various life stages:

  • Healthcare, dental, and vision plans.
  • Well-being programs (e.g., mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more).
  • Generous 401(k) plan and firm-paid basic life and disability insurance.
  • Extensive resources for parents and caregivers.
  • Family building and fertility resources.
  • And much more.

Additional Employee Benefits Include:
  • At least 11 paid holidays annually and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment, increasing with tenure.
  • Ongoing professional development and career support, including tailored training and leadership development programs, firm-paid access to LinkedIn Learning courses, and career coaching.
  • Peer networking, mentoring, and professional support through various global staff affinity groups.
