POSITION SUMMARY:

Each Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Aide plays a vital role in enhancing the living experience for our residents by performing various caregiving tasks and related services as outlined in the comprehensive care plan. Through these efforts, they contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our residents through respectful and professional interactions. This team member is dedicated to upholding Tabitha's LIVE2Care Culture and actively embraces our Core Values, supporting our goals related to the dignity, respect, independence, and comfort of our residents. Collaboration with family members, coworkers, management, and volunteers is essential for the success of our mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adheres to the individualized care plan developed for each resident.
  • Assists with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support, often requiring physical strength and stamina.
  • Aids in the admission, discharge, and transfer processes for residents.
  • Regularly changes bedding and maintains cleanliness in living areas.
  • Completes documentation accurately and promptly, following departmental protocols.
  • Prioritizes tasks to ensure effective care delivery within scheduled timeframes, adjusting as necessary to meet the dynamic needs of residents and team members.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations to protect residents' privacy and maintains confidentiality at all times.

If working in Assisted Living:

  • Organizes and implements engaging activities for residents.
  • Prepares and serves meals and snacks, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Assists with dining room cleanup and performs housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Facilitates resident bathing while promoting independence.

If a Medication Aide:

  • Prepares and administers medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to facility policies.
  • Maintains Med Aide Certification and ensures it remains current.
  • Responds to emergencies, performing CPR as trained, and maintains certification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

COMMUNICATION: Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English, including understanding medical terminology relevant to the role. This includes the ability to follow instructions, engage with residents and families, and maintain accurate documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role requires physical stamina to perform duties throughout the shift, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting residents with mobility. Candidates must be able to perform unassisted transfers and manage the physical demands of caregiving.

AGE REQUIREMENT: Candidates must be at least 16 years old for Assisted Living roles and at least 18 for other positions.

EDUCATION: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 6 months of experience in a caregiving role is preferred.

CREDENTIALS:

  • CNA Certification in good standing is preferred for Assisted Living Facilities.
  • CPR certification is required for CNAs.
  • Med Aides must maintain their certification and CPR training.
  • All certifications must be kept current at the employee's expense.
  • Compliance with Tabitha's vaccination requirements is mandatory.
