  • The High Voltage Electrical Estimating Director will oversee the electrical estimating department at William Charles Construction, ensuring efficient estimating practices and collaborating with other departments to achieve strategic objectives.">
  • This role involves directing estimating activities, managing team performance, and maintaining quality standards for project bids and proposals.">
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction estimating, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.">
  • Responsibilities include managing the firm's estimating activities, performing functions inherent to a manager/supervisory position, conducting project meetings, establishing timelines and estimating goals, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration on estimates.">
  • The director will also work closely with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve department objectives, develop department protocol for best estimating practices, review and approve bids, specifications, drawings, and contracts, and inform preconstruction staff of project requirements and owner directives.">
  • Additional responsibilities include acting as Hiring Manager for the department, performing weekly timesheet reviews, reviewing and approving data submitted by staff, ensuring quality of services provided by the estimating staff, coordinating and approving employee requests for time off, and reviewing and approving expense reports.">
  • The successful candidate must have superior communication, management, and organization development skills, with the ability to work with other department managers to meet corporate results and initiatives.">

Qualifications:

  • A proven high-level construction estimating experience, leadership and mentoring skills, and solid presentation skills are required.">
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams, and understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings, and project specifications are essential.">
  • The ideal candidate should be able to make decisions under tight deadlines, possess an expertise relative to constructability, and have experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Bid2Win, and other industry-leading software.">
  • A B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience with 7+ years of estimating on construction projects or 10+ years of experience in lieu of education is preferred.">
