Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support a busy and dynamic journalist, author, and public speaker. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing day-to-day scheduling and correspondence, as well as handling some personal errands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily schedule, including organizing meetings, interviews, speaking engagements, book tours, and other events.
  • Draft, edit, and manage email and written communications on behalf of the executive.
  • Plan and organize domestic and international travel, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation.
  • Assist in the organization of events and public speaking engagements, including liaising with event organizers.
  • Handle personal tasks such as running errands, scheduling personal appointments, and managing household logistics.
  • Organize and maintain files, contracts, and other important documents.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an executive assistant, personal assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
  • Experience with social media management and digital content creation is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Familiarity with the publishing industry, media, or journalism is a bonus.
  • A proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
