Job Description

Job Summary:

The Dean of Humanities, Communication Studies, and Math will provide leadership and direction to the academic programs in the humanities, communication studies, and math departments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in academic administration, a deep understanding of the curriculum and instructional methods, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic programs in the humanities, communication studies, and math departments.
  • Develop and implement academic policies and procedures that align with the college's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement curriculum and instructional methods that meet the needs of students.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty and staff on academic matters, including curriculum development, instructional methods, and assessment.
  • Develop and manage budgets for academic programs and departments.
  • Represent the college in academic and professional organizations, and participate in regional and national conferences.
  • Stay current with trends and developments in higher education, and apply this knowledge to improve academic programs and services.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, humanities, or social sciences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in academic administration, including experience in curriculum development, instructional methods, and assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to faculty and staff.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, and to make financial decisions that align with the college's mission and goals.
  • Ability to represent the college in academic and professional organizations, and to participate in regional and national conferences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as education, humanities, or social sciences.
  • Experience in academic program development and assessment.
  • Experience in budget development and management.
  • Experience in faculty development and support.

Working Conditions:

The Dean of Humanities, Communication Studies, and Math will work in a fast-paced academic environment, with frequent interactions with faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, and to provide guidance and support to faculty and staff.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position will be competitive, with a range of $120,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience. The college offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
