Job Summary:

A board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) is a healthcare professional who applies the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to improve or change problematic behaviors in children and adults. This role requires a strong understanding of behavior analytic principles, including functional behavior assessment (FBA), behavior intervention planning, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill assessments to identify individualized goals and target behaviors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Design and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on ABA principles to address challenging behaviors and promote skill acquisition.
  • Provide direct one-on-one therapy sessions to children with developmental delays, ASD, and other related conditions.
  • Collect and analyze data on targeted behaviors and skill acquisition to monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
  • Train and supervise behavior technicians and other staff members on effective implementation of BIPs.
  • Conduct parent training sessions to teach caregivers strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting skill acquisition.
  • Uphold ethical standards and guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Qualifications:
  • Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in ABA therapy with children, preferably in a clinical or school-based setting.
  • Strong understanding of behavior analytic principles, including FBA, BIP, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.
