The UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) provides clinical services to enhance learning, development, community participation, and quality of life for individuals on the autism spectrum.
KFAC offers programming for early childhood as well as middle childhood/adolescence. Additionally, KFAC provides specialized programming for children exhibiting challenging behaviors that hinder access to age-appropriate activities.Position Overview
To support our clinical programming, we are seeking to hire behavior support specialists. These are entry-level roles for individuals interested in pursuing a career in autism.
The ideal candidate will possess personal or professional experiences interacting with children or adolescents and demonstrate a passion for supporting the learning and development of neurodiverse individuals.
Under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with expertise in educational settings, behavior support specialists are responsible for executing skill-building and behavior support plans, preparing and supporting classroom lessons, developing learning materials, collecting data, and reporting learning outcomes.
This position necessitates over 9 months of on-the-job training and supervision.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
