Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interpreting ultrasound examinations, and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including invasive and non-invasive exams, and interpret ultrasound examinations to provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families on ultrasound procedures and results.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, exam results, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and optimal departmental performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligibility and registration within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • No prior experience required.

  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound technology and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
