Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at UNC Medical Center Hillsborough. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including invasive and non-invasive exams, under the supervision of radiologists.
  • Interpret ultrasound examinations, ranging from routine OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen, and small body parts to intra-cavity and color Doppler, and biopsies.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures, such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper care and quality control.
  • Communicate exam findings to radiologists and summarize results on report worksheets.
  • Collaborate with peers to schedule and coordinate daily workload.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligibility within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
