Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interpreting ultrasound examinations, and providing quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, abdominal duplex, musculoskeletal, CEUS, and pediatric sonography.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Communicate exam findings to radiologists and summarize results on report worksheets.
  • Work closely with radiologists to train resident physicians, fellows, and students assigned to the area.
  • Maintain CPR certification, CME credits, and active ARDMS certification.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • No prior experience required.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 36 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 9:30am to 8:00pm. The location of the job is in Hillsborough, NC.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $27.89 - $34.86 per hour (minimum to midpoint). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity. UNC Health Care offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
