Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including invasive and non-invasive exams, and interpreting ultrasound examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, abdominal duplex, musculoskeletal, CEUS, and pediatric sonography
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures, such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper care and quality control
  • Communicate exam findings to radiologists and summarize exam results on report worksheets
  • Work closely with radiologists to train resident physicians, fellows, and students

Requirements:

  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound
  • RDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligibility
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
