Job Description

St. Coletta of Greater Washington, a non-profit organization, seeks a skilled Financial Operations Specialist to manage its financial system.

The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of the financial system by managing cash inflows, collecting payments, and resolving discrepancies. Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date accounts receivable records, applying credits and collections, and clearing miscellaneous differences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain source data for monthly invoices from internal parties
  • Verify invoices for documentation before payment
  • Ensure A/R aging and general ledger agreement, notifying team members of discrepancies
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including bank deposits and cash receipt logs
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivable through phone, email, and mail
  • Prepare reports on A/R to inform management of revenue trends
  • Support accounting and finance team members as needed, producing ad hoc reports
  • Understand debit and credit memos and their impact on the general ledger

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Preferably 5 years in a non-profit organization with a budget of at least $10 million
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience billing for service claims through Medicaid waiver web portals
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
